Ginny Gong is a successful businesswoman, an accomplished educator, a frequently requested national lecturer/commentator, an experienced human resource administrator, a talk show host, personal coach/mentor, and a highly respected community leader.
Ginny's wide range of experiences has earned her the role of consultant and advisor on various school and community initiatives and a frequently requested mentor/coach. Her dynamic communication skills have positioned her as a popular keynote speaker, panelist, or facilitator at conferences and events. Her highly acclaimed presentation on the Asian American community has been recognized as one of the best insights into the community. She has addressed groups of a few to crowds of thousands, interviewed on mainstream and community network stations, and is host of a weekly talk show series Ginny's.... where East meets West currently in its 10th year. Ginny has successfully coordinated major events such as citywide and countywide festivals and conferences, televised town hall meetings, regional Youth Summits and the county's first New Americans Welcome Center. She serves as a member of many boards and committees on the local, state, and national levels, including Montgomery Community Television, University of Maryland Systems at Shady Grove, and MGM Mirage Advisory Board. Ginny was nominated to the Maryland Women's Hall of Fame and then recognized as one of its distinguished "Women Leading the Way." Ginny is employed as the Director for the Interagency Coordinating Board in Montgomery County, MD and is responsible for facilitating the community's use of all public facilities and coordinating its needs for programs and services as well as managing its multi-million Enterprise Fund. Just prior to this position she was a Human Resources Administrator for the countywide school system after having been an educator for more than 15 years.
Ginny is currently serving her fourth term as the National President for OCA, a Pan-Asian American organization founded in 1973 with 80 chapters/affiliates nationwide. Under her leadership, the organization recently made history by establishing the OCA National Center for Asian Pacific American Leadership and as such, is the first Asian American organization to acquire a home in Dupont Circle, Washington D.C.
